GPS tracking is widely used these days. It allows tracking fleets, employees, devices and other valuables. A Swiss company decided to expand the power of GPS on our little fluffy friends and has recently introduced a GPS-tracking collar designed specifically for cats.
So far the only pets that could benefit from GPS collars were dogs. However, the collars they wear are too heavy and bulky for cats and thus is not a solution for a cat owner. According to the petTracer team that was working on the project, cat behaviour was thoroughly studied and their habits and needs were taken into account to make the new GPS collar as comfortable as possible.
To track their pet’s way owners can use a smartphone, tablet, or computer. It is also possible to set limits within which the animal can walk so that the tracker immediately notifies the pet’s owner once they are off the marked territory.
